1.1 Uttarakhand Manav Seva Samiti Delhi (UKMSSD), a legally Registered Society in Delhi in September, 2000 under Societies Act, 1860, is a Non-Political, Non-Religious, Non-Profit making, Social Service Organization. It is alsoRegistered under section 12 A and granted exemption under section 80G of the IT Act. Further, it is also registered with Darpan Portal of Niti Ayog and for CSR-1 with Ministry of Corporate Affairs(MCA). Its Registered Office is at 35 Himalaya Apartments, I P Extension. 1.2 The UKMSSD has a set up of its own at its Registered Office at 35 Himalaya Apartments, I P Extn , Delhi 110092 with basic equipment and infrastructure to run the office. It has been provided with free of cost space which is sufficient for site offices at Lootabar, Ramnagar, Nainital, Uttarakhand

1.4 Since inception in 2000, the UKMSSD has been primarily working in the sphere of health care and relief activities with special emphasis on eye check ups, cataract operations, cancer, relief and other social welfare activities. The focus of activities is mainly in the far flung and difficult areas in Uttarakhand. Later on it added Upliftment, Education and Environment to its activities. All these social activities , are, however, carried purely on Charitable basis in Delhi, NCR and Chandigarh as well for upliftment of disadvantaged.
1.5 It organised around 85 Medical and Eye operation camps since then and successfully operated about 1200 persons suffering from cataract like Mahavir International Delhi, Swamy Booma Niketan Hospitals in Uttarakhand in association with other NGOs and CMOs concerned. Such camps are generally held in different schools. It has, through the CSR initiative of Indian Railway Finance Corporation (IRFC), has recently installed 30 sets of SNVM, SNDM and AHSM machines and 1000 Sanitary napkins in 30 Govt or aided or charitable schools/colleges in Uttarakhand It is in process of installing similar sets in 70 schools/colle4es through the CSR initiatives of Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL) and IRFC in the year 2023-24. In the year 2024-25, 100 more similar sets to Govt/ Aided/ Charitable educational Institutions in Uttarakhand. It has also been providing stationery items, jackets, blankets, shoes etc to poor students in many schools from time to time. During Covid -19, it provided N-95 masks and general masks, face shields to corona warrior teachers and students sponsored by different individuals and organisations.
1.6 In pre Covid period too, in 2009, 2012, 2016 and 2018, it organised big congregation at Ram Lila Ground ( Ajmeri Gate) of Delhi on importance of Indian cow in Indian Economic development and need for its protection and promotion. Holding of 85Medical Camps and Melas with CMOs, CMS and other hospitals since 2000 especially for eye cataract operation and IOL implants( In 1200 cases) are worth mentioning. It has been providing relief materials like ration, utensils, tents, tarpaulin sheets, sweaters, cooked food packets, medicines to affected families and persons during Floods in Haridwar in 2011 and Large Land slides in Ookhimath in 2012 due to heavy rains, Kedar Valley disaster June 2013 and also during Pandemic COVID-19 and established its name as a transparent and dedicated Social Service provider, Hence the UKMSSD is a well known NGO in School/College corridors and need not much of introduction especially in Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Tehri, Haridwar,Pauri, Almora and Nainital
1.7 The UKMSSD is associated with such other social welfare organisations/hospitals as extend helping hands to the most marginalised, disadvantaged, neglected and ignored persons and who work for overall upliftment and alleviation of their poverty, health and living conditions of such persons of the Society like Kukreja Nursing Home, Delhi, Swamy Bhooma Niketan Charitable Hospital and Research (Trust), Haridwar, Chamunda Hospital, Kashipur and Himalayan Institute for Medical Sciences, Jolly Grant, Dehradun, State Govt Health Deptt ( CMOs, CMSs)and Central Govt Social Welfare Organisations like NIEPVD( earlier known as NIVH) apart from NGOs like Bharat Vikas Parishad (BVP), East Delhi, Mahavir International Delhi ( MID) Bhivani Mitra Mandal, Delhi and Seva Bharati, apart from United Way of Bengaluru ( UWB), Vijay Laxmi Mansol Pvt Ltd, GLMS Services, Word Vision, Indian Railways Finance Corporation ( IRFC) Delhi, AIIMS Rishikesh supported by Uttarakhand Council of Science and Technology (UCOST) and the Indian Oil Corporation Ltd(IOCL) and now The Airports Authority of India Ltd (AAI). There are many other PSUs with which UKMSSD is in dialogue for different types of CSR Proposals.
